LockFit Guide

Will a retrofit smart lock fit your door?

Eight questions. We compare your answers with the requirements SwitchBot publishes for each model and list anything you still need to check. This is a guide, not a guarantee that a lock will fit.

1.What kind of door is it?
2.What lock does the door have now?

Look at the inside of the door, above the handle.

3.Does the thumbturn turn easily by hand when the door is closed?

Retrofit locks turn your existing thumbturn with a small motor. A bolt that sticks or needs a push on the door can stall it.

4.Which way does the door open?
5.With the door closed, how far is the center of the thumbturn from the door frame? (optional)

Measure on the inside of the door. Leave blank if you have not measured yet.

Where to measure Inside view of a door. Measure from the center of the thumbturn to the edge of the door frame. SwitchBot asks for at least 33 millimeters on doors that open inward and more than 40 millimeters on doors that open outward. FRAME DOOR, INSIDE THUMBTURN lock body area 122 × 62.6 mm HANDLE MEASURE
